Introducing Round-ups

Starship is excited to bring you a brand new feature that will put your health savings on autopilot. Turn spare change into health savings: introducing Round-ups by Starship.

How does Round-ups work?

When you make a purchase with a debit card linked to your Starship account, we’ll round the purchase up to the nearest dollar. For example, if you buy a coffee for $2.60 with your linked debit card, Starship rounds up the transaction to the nearest dollar ($3) and sets aside the spare $0.40.

The spare change is set aside for your health until it hits a $5 threshold, and then we’ll initiate a one-time transfer from your linked bank account to your Starship Spending account (you don’t need to do a thing!)

Why Round-ups?

Making space to save can be tough—we get that. We heard from our customers that saving bit by bit, without significantly impacting day-to-day checking balances, would be a game changer.

Round-ups is a powerful and passive savings strategy that will help you save for those unexpected (or expected) health purchases — braces, annual doctor’s visits, medication — without them feeling too “big” or hard to handle.

How to get started?

You can either log into your Starship app and tap the Money Movement button in the bottom center of your screen, or log into the Starship website and tap the Money Movement button at the top right of your screen.
